This is just a small sampling of what runners have to say

Great race Larry! This is my fourth time and every time I run the course I find a new view or something special about it. This year the weather was great so there were great ocean views and lots of smiles on the runners! Mike S., Bremerton

I just wanted to thank you for putting on a wonderful marathon and you even managed perfect weather for us, too! Having someone at the end to personally make sure we're okay and give us our medal and refreshment is awesome. Ginger

Good morning. I participated in your half marathon yesterday. wow, wow, wow. i had an incredible experience. i just moved to Westport, WA from Illinois and this was my first race.i thought everything was perfect. great job to you and your team. Sarah

Just wondering if you still have race shirts left over. Mike had to have his cut off at the E.R. the other night. He ate it on the mountain bike, tearing his AC ligament in his shoulder. He was mostly bummed about the shirt. So if you have any larges left, I'd love to stop by and buy one from ya! Rachael, Sequim

Thanks for a great race!! It was my first marathon in 4 years (ran 3 the summer my daughter turned 1, then have been doing mom stuff since then), and I did a PR by 5 minutes. If I could change anything it would be the rain and wind, but hey, this is Washington and besides, running in stuff like that makes for great stories after the fact. NODM was my first small race (having done Napa, Big Sur, San Francisco, and Chicago) and it was truly a PLEASURE!!!! I loved the set-up prior to the race. It was so relaxing and inspiring and just comfortable. The aid stations were fabulous, and the 21-ish mile station with the lemon drops was a god-send. It's amazing what sucking on a piece of candy can do for a brain in need of inspiration to keep the legs moving fast. I spoke with wonderful people throughout the race, and quickly recognized the spectators there supporting runners going my speed. It was great to see them along the way and develop a small camaraderie with them as well. The food was fabulous! My stomach was not able to eat for a couple of hours, but I took along goodies for the drive home and was in heaven when I was able to digest again. The entire atmosphere of the race was just wonderful. I hope I will be back again and again. I know a tremendous amount of work goes into putting on an A-One event like yours. Kudos to all involved. Oh, and the shirts rock! THANK YOU for an awesome experience! Kyla, Bellevue

Please let all your volunteers know they did a fabulous job. This was the most fun-spirited half-marathon I have ever run in. From the parking attendants, to the volunteers who handed out water, to the kind man who assisted me at the finish line, to the masseuse who rubbed my calves, to the rock band, to the guy handing out peanut butter -- everyone was sooo friendly. The course was beautiful, everything was run efficiently and everyone who participated made everything a complete ease. (Well, the running, as always, was hard.) Good job. Rob

...I've run six fulls and four halfs in my life and this was the NICEST people marathon I have ever run, I loved everyone so much!!! Also after Big Sur it was the prettiest and after Silicon Valley's big computer chip medal yours was the best and the shirt was the best one yet. I'd have paid more to run your event. So all around considering this was the fifth event you guys did, it is the best in the Northwest by a long shot (I've run Capital City, Portland, Whidbey and heard horror stories of Seattle). Just fantastic, thanks so much for working with me. I'll come back next year healthy. Paul

"Beautiful Course, great people, see you next year!" Those were our daughter's exact words, when she called me all the way back in Atlanta, GA from the finish line on Sunday! She celebrated her 16th birthday at the NODM and says it was the best birthday ever!(Early in the year, we had her "google" all the races in the world on June 10th and pick the most intriguing...yours won, and it turned out to be the right choice!) She and my husband didn't realize she placed third in her half marathon age group, and missed the awards ceremony, we are sorry. Is there any way to send the award, COD, if necessary? Otherwise, sounds like we could just pick it up next year, when she returns! Happy running, Bonnie.

Sunday was #30 for me, and you are absolutely #1 for the caring you put into NODM. Well organized, yes. But so much more than that: healthy food to eat at the end (I've been greeted with no more than more oranges and bananas...); healthy and sufficient food and drink along the way; volunteers that stayed and cheered through all that rain (I've been greeted with personless tables...)... and your commitment to zero impact. So many details were full of smiles and support and human kindness and care. Thank you! Cynthia

I just wanted to extend my personal thanks for putting on such a wonderful marathon. This was my second year running NODM, and I was yet again impressed by the abundance of enthusiastic volunteers, clarity of course marking, quality of support & participant materials and a generally superb running experience. And the proof is in the results: this has been my PR course for the second year in a row. After running two mega-marathons (Paris, Honolulu) and two NODM's, there is simply no comparison when it comes to going out for an enjoyable run. NODM has the personal touch that I truly appreciate! Thanks again, and I look forward to next year! Andrew

Hey, I'm sure you get 100's of e-mails about the event. This one is just one more note of thanks, and congratulations on preparing and producing one of the BEST events in the USA. I've competed in many different sporting events, and this marathon is one of the most pleasant experiences ever. I completed the 1/2 marathon 2 years ago.I came back for the full marathon this year with a "best friend", because I told her it was the best organized event in the area. Even with chilly weather and a very sore left foot bythe finish, I would recommend this marathonweekend as one of the best investments a runner or walker could make. So, I'll not be running the marathon next year (2008), but maybe the 1/2 marathon instead. Great job, keep up the good work. Kirsten

Thanks for my best running experience ever. Tom S.
