Marathon Course | Boston Marathon Qualifier

The NODM is excited to bring back the famous point-to-point marathon course in 2016. Starting at the beautiful 7 Cedars Casino in Blyn, the course follows the Olympic Discovery Trail through Sequim Bay State Park, across the Johnston Creek trestle, trough the quaint Sequim downtown corridor, over the newly repaired Dungeness River Railroad trestle bridge, meandering through farm and country with mountain views, and finishing with a five mile stretch along the shores of the Salish Sea where you will be greeted at the finish line at Port Angeles City Pier.

Voted “Most Scenic Racecourse” by Northwest Runner magazine in 2015, we hope you’ll add this special marathon course to your list.

Walkers are welcome. An early start time is provided for walkers and slower runners. Please read the important details on the Event Details page.

Half Marathon Course

The Half Marathon starts at the  Storm King Soccer Fields (1240 N Barr Road). Athletes head south for 1/4 mile before turning west on to the Olympic Discovery Trail (ODT) beginning the journey to City Pier through flat, rural farm lands with views of the Olympic Mountains. Athletes descend to Siebert Creek leaving the trail briefly, and using Wild Currant Way to ascend gradually to the Old Olympic Highway for a short crossing over Siebert Creek. Athletes meet back up on the ODT heading west. Miles 4 – 7 roll through a mosaic of green offering shade on warm days. Athletes descend to the picturesque trestle over Morse Creek, and from the creek, climb the last hill. The final 6 miles descend gradually with the last 5 miles finishing flat and fast along the shores of the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
