Hal Higdon has contributed to Runner's World for longer than any other writer, an article by Hal having appeared in that publication's second issue in 1966. Author of 34 books, including the best-selling Marathon: The Ultimate Training Guide. He ran eight times in the Olympic Trials and won four world masters championships. One of the founders of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA). He serves as a training consultant for numerous races, including the Niagara Falls Marathon, the Thunder Road Marathon and the California International Marathon and answers questions online for TrainingPeaks, also providing interactive training programs. Furman Institute of Running and Scientific Training - the FIRST program. FIRST has developed training programs for the 5K, 10K, half-marathon and marathon. The FIRST training programs are based on results from FIRST training research studies that showed runners are able to run successful road races by incorporating three quality runs a week into their overall training program. Pacing is a crucial component to the FIRST training program. For more information click here.

"Peaks Pub" Club (temporary name) meet every Wednesday at Peak's Pub on Lincoln Street for a short 3 mile run capped off with a cool micro brew at the pub.
Rhody Run 12K, Port Townsend, Third Sunday in May. The Rhody Run is a twelve (12) kilometer run/walk located in Port Townsend, Washington on the third Sunday of May in conjunction with the local Rhododendrum Festival. The run has been in existence since 1979 and celebrated it's 30th year in 2008. Approximately 2,000+ attend the event each year. For information click here.
