The Olympic Peninsula

Nestled between the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Olympic National Park, the Olympic Peninsula is approximately 2 hours northwest from the Seattle Area. We are also a 1 hour 30 minute ferry crossing (car and/or passenger) from Victoria, British Columbia. The Pacific ocean is an hour and 20 minute drive and everything between is well worth seeing.

Driving

From Seattle

via Washington State Ferry to Bainbridge Island

Depart the ferry merging onto HWY 305, follow to HWY 3 to the Hood Canal Bridge. Take a left onto the bridge and follow HWY 104, then merge onto HWY 101. Continue through Sequim to Port Angeles. Approximate Travel Time: 2 hours 45 minutes.

From Seattle

via Washington State Ferry to Edmonds
Depart the ferry and follow signs to the Hood Canal Bridge. Take a right onto the bridge and follow HWY 104, then merge onto HWY 101. Continue through Sequim to Port Angeles. Approximate Travel Time: 2 hours 30 minutes

From SeaTac Airport

Take Interstate 5 south to the Bremerton Exit (highway 16 North) through Bremerton; past Bremerton take highway 3 to 104 to 101 around Sequim. Port Angeles is 15 miles west of Sequim on highway 101. Travel Time: 2 hours and 15 minutes

From Olympia & Oregon

Take US 101 northbound along the western shore of Hood Canal. From Olympia via Aberdeen/Hoquiam: take US 101 northbound. This is a longer scenic route that includes the Pacific coastline and parts of Olympic National Park.

Take the Washington State ferry from Keystone (on Whidbey Island north of Seattle) to Port Townsend. Ferry reservations can be made through the WA Department of Transportation, Map from Bellingham, Vancouver BC. Map from N. Seattle communities via Mukilteo ferry

Charters

Olympic Bus Lines – offers bus service from SeaTac, Seattle, Edmonds, and Port Townsend ferries.

Rocket Transportation – service from SeaTac airport and custom charters. All Points Charters & Tours – if you live on the Kitsap Peninsula, just call Willie Nelson to pick up your group and transport you to the race, or if this is your first visit to Washington, schedule a private tour of the Peninsula.

Air Travel

To SeaTac Airport

Travel by air to SeaTac (Seattle) Airport, rent a car and drive to the Peninsula. Driving directions. Travel by air to SeaTac Airport, reserve shuttle bus to Peninsula. Shuttle service provided by Olympic Bus Lines, (360) 417-0700.

To Port Angeles

The William R. Fairchild International Airport is a full-service commercial airport located on the Olympic Peninsula, on the southwest side of the City of Port Angeles. Charter a flight from Rite Bros. Aviation or Aero Exec LLC for personalized, private flight service.

Ferry

To/from Victoria, British Columbia

Travel from downtown Victoria to downtown Port Angeles via the COHO ferry. No need to bring a car if you are traveling from Vancouver Island.

Make hotel arrangements in downtown Port Angeles and you are walking distance to all of the event activities. COHO ferry information (360) 457-4491.d Canal Bridge. Take a left onto the bridge and follow HWY 104, then merge onto HWY 101. Continue through Sequim to Port Angeles. Approximate Travel Time: 2 hours 45 minutes.

About Port Angeles Marathon Association

The Port Angeles Marathon Association (PAMA) is located on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. PAMA hosts 5 different races annually. All races also have a virtual race option for all of the events if you are not able to make it out to the Olympic Peninsula for one or all of the races.

Events

The North Olympic Discovery Marathon is a entire weekend of events on the Olympic Discovery Trail from Sequim to Port Angeles.
