Save the date: June 6, 2010
Come join us in June for what has been called the best boutique marathon in North America. The North Olympic Discovery Marathon and Half-Marathon are run on a unique point-to-point course that incorporates the Olympic Discovery Trail - with stunning views of the Olympic Mountains and a five mile finishing stretch along the shores of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The race is a USATF sanctioned event that is a Boston Marathon qualifier and will be chip timed. The rails to trails course is a wide, mixed, hard surface trail. Cool June weather next to the ocean can be expected. See what Coolrunning has to say about NODM - click here.

4/21/09 - 2009 NODM Dedicated to Neil Jervis

Our race committee, our friends, and our entire community have been touched by the perserverance, the determination, the grace, and the courage of IronMan Neil. In 2006, Neil was diagnosed with very late stage cancer. That year (picture) he completed the NODM half marathon and went on to compete at IronMan Canada. Neil has beaten all of the odds given to him thus far. After three years, his fight has become tougher. Neil and his beautiful wife Sara are founding members of the NODM. They have volunteered and participated every year. In appreciation, the NODM Race Committee is proud to dedicate this years' race to Neil Jervis.

Read what one of last years' participants had to say:
Larry,
Just wanted to compliment you on a great race on Sunday. This was my fourth marathon and by far the prettiest course. I love the trees, the path was greatand the birds cheering me along was a nice touch. And that finish next to the water was great (despite the fact that I was too tired to fully enjoy it). The volunteers were all amazing and so helpful and friendly. I love the volunteer gentleman at the end who made sure I was all right and stuck with me until my friend ran over to pick me up. The race was so well organized that it allowed me to concentrate on just having a good run. Thank you for a wonderful day (I beat Oprah's time and PR'd by over 30 minutes, wahoo!). And, thanks for putting in a good word for us on the weather front!
Sincerely,
Ilana
P.S. The shirts and medals are stellar as well

Finally! We have been trying to get our website in perfect order. The computer and all of our web files died last summer and the rebuilding has taken a lot of unexpected detours. But, we are so close and it's only going to get better from here. Keep checking and thank you so much for your patience.
